Bird strike prevention
What doesn't work at all: Falcon silhouettes.
What does work:
1. Keeping the windows quite dirty in migratory season. Seems to be
the least
intrusive solution for a home. Hardly possible for a commercial
building.
2. Stretching plastic "fruit netting" across the windows. It can be
left up all year.
I use netting with square holds about 3/4 inch in size.
My home has a lot of glass and I have sadly seen many birds strike and perish
over the last twelve years. Most susceptible seem to be Ovenbirds, followed
by thrushes.
