Hi all these are sightings for sat may 22 , 04 Jan
Reese and I deciced to bird some stream crossings in north
central Queen Annes Co from about 7 :00 am to 12:00 noon from
east of Ruthsburg to Barclay . In a series Of 8 stops 6 stops
had at least 1 and as many as several singing Kentucky Warblers
at each place . On Seney Rd southeast of Price delorme atlas map 50
A 3 lower right corner. Queen Annes Co map book 14 G 8 .At one such
crossing there was a house near by with two Purple Martin houses
with several Martins sitting on them with others flying around a nice
atlas bird a bird flew across the road and landed in a near by maple
tree in full veiw for a couple of minutes . as the bird flew Jan said
cuckoo after it landed we both said BLACK - BILLED CUCKOO killer
looks .It was a county bird for me and first for several years. other
birds here were both Orchard and Baltimore Orioles. several catbirds .
Indigo Buntings were common as were Blue Grosbeaks , 1 Kestrel, 1
Northern Harrier at Howard Wilson Rd near Barclay. Also at Howard
Wilson were an very fussy Yellow Breasted Chat,Field Sparrow ,and
Prairie Warbler Near the Black - Billed Cuckoo on the same road
father down was a wooded area and I had A pair of Blue Jays flew
to the crotch of a white Oak tree and a nest the female went in the nest
and the male came in carrying nesting material the female took it and
continued to build a nice confrimed nesting . On Sun May 23 , 04
In my own Atlas Blocks I had a Blue Jay carrying nesting material in
my Centreville block . In my home block a pair of White Breasted
Nuthatch came to the feeder .
