Saturday afternoon I found a male Wilson's Phalarope along Spring Road in
Talbot county. I think a got a couple of o.k. pics. Jim Brighton came by
and saw it as well. It was a fine looking bird.
Sunday Jim and I dropped back by Spring Road, no phalarope, but one
White-rumped Sandpiper was present.
In Wicomico County we found 6 Ruddy Turnstones with about a dozen
Black-bellied Plovers along MD 574.
Linguring ducks included a female Red-breasted Merganser in Ocean City. On
the way home I had a female Hooded Merganser(breeder?) along Route 309 in
Queen Anne's County. Also in another pond on 309 there was a female
Ring-necked Duck. And at Terripin Park there was another female Red-brested
Merganser.
The ponds along 309 also had Black-bellied and Semipalmated Plovers.
There was a Cliff Swallow over the Nanticoke River along Route 50 on the
Dorchester side, may be worth seeing if they are breeding here.
