At Patterson Park today I watched a male American Kestrel hawking for
cicadas. Each time he sallied forth a pair of House Finch followed without
getting to close. They chattered and the whole time then returned to the
same tree. The female Kestrel showed little interest as she eyed a House
Sparrow and Mourning Dove in the same dead tree.
Also add: Great Crested Flycatcher, Cedar Waxwing and Hooded Mergansers
(reported by Jim Peters at Ft McHenry)
