I was at the National Zoo on Tuesday and watched as the displaying male
Kori Bustard ate a cicada. It downed it instantly in one gulp, never
pausing from its impressive display pose.

The Black-crowned Night-Heron nesting colony is quite lively right now,
but at midday I didn’t see any of the Night-Herons feeding on cicadas.
