I thought I would share this with the greater birding community.  This is a nice award and it would be great if one of our own got it.  I don't have anything to do with it, just passing on the word.

      The Conservation Fund and the Catto Charitable Foundation sponsor
an annual award, The American Land Conservation Award, given to an
unsung hero working as a volunteer in his or her community on land and
water issues.  

      It is the largest cash prize in conservation; the winner
receives $50,000 with no strings attached.  We would appreciate your
help in getting the word out to individuals and groups who work with
volunteers. It is a wonderful recognition and the application process
is not elaborate.

      I have attached an announcement, which refers interested parties
to our website, and the very short application format. Will you please
forward along to people you know?
