Hi All - My hip was hurting this morning, so I didn't do much walking.
Nevertheless, found 32 species in 2 hours. Because of the dense foliage,
many were heard-only. The best were a pair of Summer Tanagers (male singing
vigorously) near the MD 121 bridge, and a heard-only Yellow-throated
Warbler. The YtWa was in the northern part of the park - in the deep woods
along Prescott Rd, between MD 355 and Hyattstown Mill Rd.
I seldom bird in the northern part of the park, and now I remember why:
there aren't as many birds there - found only 12 species there, and not many
total birds. (But there was an Ovenbird, which I didn't get on the south
end - most seem to have stopped singing.)
