I had meant to report one that I heard on May 30. I had just moved to
Clary's Forest 17 years ago and this is the first Cuckoo I've observed here.
It would be nice if I'd recorded a Cuckoo in the last Cicada uprising but I
wasn't observing as closely then. Wish I had been paying more attention
then - the effects on feeders etc. are interesting. As others have noted,
feeder traffic has been down, especially for suet. Usually the Catbirds are
Pirahna-like on the suet, but only my tame Catbird has been by a few times,
and he only takes one grub from me - just a social call I guess.

As of today (I've been away since last week), the Cicada noise is diminished
and C-bird has been around quite a bit more. Still not as voracious as usual
and still only two. Past years I've had at least six fighting over the
goodies.
