I have never been so lucky when trying eject House Sparrows from my Bluebird
boxes. It seems that once they get the idea of nesting in the box that they
will make a 2nd or 3rd attempt after I destroy a nest. After finding the
first sign of House Sparrow activity, my tactic now is to leave the box open
for a week or two. They seem to move on in that time frame. Then I close
it up and hope some Bluebird may become interested in it again.

Good Birding,
Glen

The energy required to build a nest is tremendous and they (House Sparrows)
typically abandon nesting for the year or the site.

Best,
