On that same thread -- a friend of mine used to work at a law firm (Jones Day) at 51 Louisiana Ave. NW, and complained of an owl making a regular appearance and vocalizing in a tree outside of an office window.  They have no idea which kind of owl it was -- but my guess is a GHO or Barred.

I have found an Eastern Kingbird nesting in the area just northwest of
the Capitol. (If an Atlaser is covering this area I can give a more
exact location.) I never expected to find this bird so far downtown.
