Between being busy and computer problems I haven't had a chance to post
this before now -- these sightings are from Saturday and Monday.

On Saturday (6/19), Denise Ryan and I went to Sean's house to try for
the kites. The kites did not cooperate, so rather than go home
disappointed we stopped at nearby Elk Neck State Park and walked down to
the lighthouse at Turkey Point. Our birds for the day at were:

Great Blue Heron
Black Vulture
Turkey Vulture
Osprey
Bald Eagle
Red-shouldered Hawk
Red-tailed Hawk
Least Tern
Mourning Dove
Yellow-billed Cuckoo
Ruby-throated Hummingbird
Downy Woodpecker
Acadian Flycatcher
Great Crested Flycatcher
Purple Martin
Tree Swallow
Barn Swallow
Carolina Wren
Northern Mockingbird
Eastern Bluebird
American Robin
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
Carolina Chickadee
Tufted Titmouse
American Crow
European Starling
White-eyed Vireo
Red-eyed Vireo
American Redstart
Hooded Warbler
Scarlet Tanager
Chipping Sparrow
Song Sparrow
Northern Cardinal
Indigo Bunting
Common Grackle
Brown-headed Cowbird
Baltimore Oriole
Orchard Oriole
House Finch
House Sparrow

:Late Monday afternoon (6/21), Ken Board and I went to the Middle
Patuxent Environmental Area in Howard County.

Mallard
Yellow-billed Cuckoo
Chimney Swift
Belted Kingfisher
Willow Flycatcher
Cedar Waxwing
Gray Catbird
Northern Mockingbird
Veery
Wood Thrush
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
Tufted Titmouse
Blue-headed Vireo
Red-eyed Vireo
Northern Parula
Common Yellowthroat
Eastern Towhee
Northern Cardinal
Common Grackle
Orchard Oriole

The woods were filled with thrushes -- we heard Veerys and Wood Thrushes
singing pretty much the entire time we were there.
