Hello All,
Shelly and I rode over to Hurlock to see the Dickcissels. We were
there from 6:55 - 7:15 PM. At first the Dickcissels were hiding, but after
a few minutes, one male appeared and sang from the top of a weed for the
remainder of our visit. I should note that the weeds here are about 5 feet
tall. The best viewing was while I was standing in the in the open door of
the car. Attempts from ground level to get the bird in the scope produced
only views that were partially obscured.
On the way there and back, we flushed not one, not two, but three
individual Bobwhites from the road edges of Oak Grove Rd and Wheatley Rd
(between MD 392 and Oak Grove). After the third one, I asked when we passed
Rod Serling. The reason being that I have been down these roads many times
in the past few weeks while atlasing and have seen none. Where did they
come from all the sudden?

Good birding,
