Early Saturday morning at Anacostia Park in DC, an adult Least Tern was
busy with 3 juveniles. The young birds mostly stayed perched on a "No
Wake" buoy while the adult brought food. The terns were no longer in the
area Sunday morning according to Paul Pisano.

I did not see the Common Tern reported earlier in the week by Mike Bowen
though there were still plenty of Forster's around. About 100 Laughing
Gulls flew up the river from the Washington Channel area. A Least
Sandpiper and a Killdeer made a brief stop on the mudflats exposed at low
tide.

Also early Saturday morning, I saw a very worn looking Lesser Scaup in
Washington Channel. Maybe one of the birds reported at Dyke Marsh?

(Sorry for the late report...I'm temporarily without internet access at
home.)
