Sunday, our most interesting sighting in Leakin Park
may have been the undated Lost Owl poster at the Winans
Meadow trail head.  It seems that the Carrie Murray Center
has lost a Barn Owl!  We saw ours in Leakin Park on June 14.
Well, I like this scenario somewhat better than some poor owl
being hounded out of  more appropriate habitat by encroaching
construction, etc.   A phone call to the Carrie Murray Center
did not reveal the exact date of the loss.  In regard to our
question about what was wrong with the bird, we were only
told that it was "imprinted on people."  The naturalist was
not in today, and likely knows more.
