Finally an evening without rain so we went for a walk with the dogs in
Wheaton Regional Park. Very few birds were active, some Acadian FC and
Pewees calling, but the many Ovenbirds and Wood Thrushes seem to have called
it a summer. Sort of the lull before migration, we will probably start at
Rock Creek in August since previous years have found some movement of
interesting birds earlier than we used to think.

However, our walk in the park was not completely dull -- we found a
beautiful fresh Luna Moth (one of the few I've seen in recent years) and a
little stand of blooming Cranefly Orchids.
