Hi all,
We just got back from a short trip to Florida, where we had some family
business as well as a short vacation. On Friday last, we went over to Merritt
Island Nat'l W. Refuge, where I got my life Florida Scrub Jay (only one!) and
though not in MD, just a note to say we had a couple of interesting shorebird
sightings, including a single Spotted Sandpiper and many Lesser Yellowlegs, as
well as Semi-palmated and Least Sandpipers. The Spotted seemed very early to be
that far south to me. Also got my life Manattee ( a group of at least 10).

Back here at home this morning, many young Orchard Orioles and a few
Baltimore Orioles, as well as Brown Thrasher, Catbird, Mockingbird, feeding on wild
cherries, as well as White-eyed Vireo, E. Phoebe, and a good number of young
Green Herons hanging out at the pond.
