Rob Hilton, Lisa Shannon & I hit the hot spots in DC today, looking for
shorebirds in wet fields since it was high tide. Found the following:

Semipalmated Plover - 4 (1 at Anacostia River Park, 3 at Kenilworth Park)

Killdeer - c.25 (5 at Anacostia River Park, c.20 at Kenilworth Park)

Lesser Yellowlegs - c.20 (c.15 at Anacostia River Park, 5 at Kenilworth
Park)

Semipalmated Sandpiper - c.8 (back gravel lot at Kenilworth Park)

Least Sandpiper - c.20 (back gravel lot at Kenilworth Park)

Pectoral Sandpiper - 9 (2 at Anacostia River Park, 7 at Kenilworth Park)

Also had a Bobolink flyover at Kenilworth Park.

Nothing unexpected, but always nice to see any species of shorebird in DC
(we take our successes where we can get them).

Good birding,
