On Aug 9, I posted seeing a Snowy Egret at the Memorial Bridge, DC. After reviewing a few guides, I now believe it was an immature Cattle Egret. Lesson learned on making assumptions and not promptly checking a guide.
It was all white, lacking any buffy or rusty feathers, dark bill, dark legs and dark feet. It absolutely did not have yellow feet. And when I say dark legs and feet, I mean nearly back. I don't think they were dark green as I saw the bird in full sun.
From what I can tell, even the juv. Snowy Egrets either have the distinctive yellow feet or they have both green legs and feet.
