The mudflats around Kingman Is were not very productive this morning during low tide.
2 Greater Yellowlegs
1 Solitary Sandpiper
20 Great Egrets
Blue Heron
Several adult Common Terns feeding single young
1 Forsters Tern
Regular smattering of Gulls
15 ish Fish Crows

The island had 2 other visitors! Wow
3 juv. Blue Grosbeak were the only other high light in addition to a Red Fox pup hanging out by the bridge to RFK parking and a turtle.
1 Wood Duck

Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens were not much more productive on shorebirds. One Great Egret near the entrance side of the park -- allowing people to get dangerously close. I've never seen a bird like this allow a human to approach within 5-8 feet, but this one did. Just for the record, I didn't get near it.
There was a nice Green Heron at the end of the boardwalk with more Great Egrets fishing as the tide came in.
1 Broad Winged Hawk
1 Red-Shouldered Hawk
Possibly 1 Least Flycatcher? Very small - just a hint bigger than the Blue-Gray Gnatchatchers, bright white throat, worn grayish overall, contrast in the wingbars, lower mandible was light with a little gray on the end.
Lots and lots of female and juv. Balt Orioles. picking over berries. Females singing.
One Scarlet Tanger joined the feasting birds.
1 Eastern Kingbird
2 Eastern Phoebe
Many Blue-Gray Gnatcatchers
Belted Kingfisher hunting in the lily ponds
Lots of Redwinged Blackbirds

What a nice day. Enjoy your birding!
