Hi All This Morning Went to Central Sod Farms on John Brown Rd Not
Much of note there. After leaving there Decided to go to The Wildfowl
Trust of North America in Grasonville . This Place is now renamed
chesapeake something or other. Too confusing as far as I am concerned. I
arrived at about Noon . After checking In decided to head to the Lake
Knapp Blind. Along the service road birds seen 4 Eastern Kingbirds, 4
Mockingbirds. As I got into the Blind started scoping For shorebirds saw 4
LesserYellowlegs , 1 Greater yellowlegs next to a Lesser great to compare
them. Then saw 1 Tricolored Heron Immature then saw a 2nd and 3rd then in
a walk around the lake saw a Total of 7 Tricolored Herons . This was a
county Bird as well as a year bird for my state list. All were Immature
Birds like pictured in Sibley's Eastern Field Guild on page 53 . Other
shorebirds there were Semi and Least Sandpipers, Killdeer 10, Semi palmated
plover 5 , 2 Great Egret , 5 Snowy Egret at least 5 Osprey 4
with 3 young of the year sitting on the Nesting platform in the middle Of
Lake Knapp. One finising off a fish. Behind the Edcation building was an
Empidonax Flycatcher sitting in a dead tree which made an unhappy nearby
Hummingbird fly in the face of the Flycatcher that in turn fly off with no
ID. Great sighings No skeeters But a very few biting flies.

                                         Happy Birding
