I spent the weekend with the family camping at the Ole Mink Farm, in the
mountains west of Thurmont, MD. Notable birds included WILD TURKEY, HERMIT
THRUSH, BLACK AND WHITE, REDSTART, HOODED, and CANADA WARBLERS, and a COMMON
RAVEN croaking loudly at sunrise. The elevation was approximately 1000 feet,
but enough to make evenings nice and cool. This was my first time to the
Catoctin Mountain Park area, and I hope to return to this beautiful area
with lots of forest and birds!
