Hi --

Things started rather slowly at Rock Creek Park DC, the ridge being very
quiet just after sunrise, but perseverance paid off for the few birders
present. Best bird was a female GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER near the horse
corrals, in a small flock with also included Black-and-White and Red-eyed
Vireos. Military Field ("the dog run") was fairly active as well, especially
flycatchers, we saw a Yellow-bellied, a Least and a "Traill's" type, as well
as Great Crested FC and Phoebe.

Warblers were thin on the ground but Jim Lemert stayed on in the
(initially-dead) Maintenance Yard and was rewarded with a sudden influx
which included Cerulean, Blackburnian and Blue-winged. Lots of orioles
about.

Warblers: Golden-winged (1, female), Blue-winged (1), Blackburnian (1),
Black-and-White (1), Cerulean (1), Chestnut-sided (2), Northern Parula (1),
Redstart (1), Common Yellowthroat (3).

Others: "Traill's" Flycatcher (1), Yellow-bellied FC (1), Least FC (1),
Eastern Phoebe (1), Great Crested FC (2), Eastern Kingbird (1), Eastern
Wood-pewee (2), Baltimore Oriole (10), Veery (1), Yellow-billed Cuckoo (3-4
heard), Cedar Waxwing (~20), Red-eyed Vireo (6), Ruby-throated Hummingbird
(5).
