Greetings,
first things first, I just realized that I sent a private email to the
whole list. Sorry about that!
Sunday moring I arrived at Turkey Point in Cecil County for a little pre-
wedding birding. (My sister in law got married sunday, not me.) Anyway
birds were well represented, I even got a few hawks at the hawk watch
including a Broad-winged that swooped in at tree level, flushing a number
of passerines in the area. Warbler numbers were high, but I was only able
to ID Common Yellowthroat, Black-throated Green, Parula, Redstart, Black
and White, and Chestnut-sided. -Plenty of Flycathcers around too including
Pewee, empid sp, Pheobe, Great-crested and E. Kingbird. a pair of Sharpies
passed by just after the Broad-winged, and plenty of Hummers were buzzing
through as well. Brown Thrashers continued in all the places that they
were seen the day before and Blue-gray Gnatcatchers were awlfully
conspicious too. A friend, who was with my, (not really a birder) got some
really great looks at some good first time birds like Baltimore Oriole,
Yellow-billed Cuckoo, and Pileated Woodpecker.
Good Birding,
Chris Starling
