Thanks, Parke,

Week after week I read notices of wonderful sightings and think how
is it I missed this or that wonderful bird, the kind that it seems
everyone else saw while I was watching crows, starlings, and TV's.

You made me feel less alone.

Also, better luck next time.

Sean and I did an ill conceived trip to the West Ocean City area and
Asseteague Island on Labor Day.

Highlights were:

Eagles Nest Campground:
Lots of birds, poor light and too much wind.
Pectoral Sandpipers 1

Skimmer Island from Sneaky Pete's
Lots of birds
Piping Plover 1

Asseteague Island the Sound Side
White-rumped Sandpiper 1
Lark Sparrow 0

Asseteague the Beach "Off Road Area" to the VA Line
Lots of terns, Sanderlings, Turnstones
Sandwich Tern 6
Whimbrel 4
"Skinny Dipping" Birdwatcher 1
There was a strong East wind, but few birds over the ocean.

Asseteague the Beach "Off Road Area" the sound side
Lots of terns, shorebirds and waders
Piping Plover 1
White-rumped Sandpiper 6
Bobwhite Quail 10 (the first covey I've flushed in 15 years)
Bobolink 1
Tree Swallows 150 - 300

Time down 2 hour and 15 minutes.
Time back 4 hours and 30 minutes.
