Today after classes I took a trip to the Eastern Shore to look for
shorebirds. Unfortunately I left my scope at home, but I don't think that it mattered
much. The best birds were found in Caroline County in the Sparks Rd area
north of Ridgely. I saw the birds on Dean Rd, a new gravel road that is
essentially a southern extension of Sparks Rd. Here are the results:

Chesapeake Waterfowl Trust was closed for an unknown reason. I called and
the answer machine indicated that they should have been open. I'll have to
get Tricolors in QA another time.

John Brown Rd: (Queen Anne)
Killdeer 25
Semi Plover 2

Southernmost 309 Pond: (Queen Anne)
Least 10
Semi Sand 6
Western Sand 1

Dean Rd: (Caroline)
Killdeer 60
Buff-breasted Sandpiper 1
American Golden-Plover 1

Ridgely STP: (Caroline)
Merlin 1
Blue-winged Teal 1
Ruddy Duck 1
Semi Plover 2
Peep sp 5 (chased off by the Merlin before ID could be made)

Mason Branch Rd: (Caroline)
American Golden-Plover 1
Black-bellied Plover 1

Bridgetown Rd: (Queen Anne)
Killdeer 50

Rt 299 in Massey: (Kent)
Killdeer 30

Old Telegraph Rd: (Cecil)
Cattle Egret 1

Aldino Sod Farm: (Harford)
Killdeer 30
American Golden-Plover 1

Note: Jim Brighton visited Dean Rd after me and found 2 Buffs, 3 Goldens
and a Black-bellied Plover. I presume that the Golden and Black-belly I saw on
Mason Branch simply moved, it's practically the same field.
