See Life Paulagics is running a pelagic out of Lewes, DE on Saturday, October
23. This is a relatively undocumented time of the year. Of interest is that
New Jersey's only record for Buller's Shearwater was seen on October 28, 1984,
and was just 31 miles from shore. Past reports of East Coast albatrosses were
often in the company of large numbers of Northern Gannets, which we hope to
find in numbers around commercial fishing boats. (That's numbers of gannets,
not albatrosses ... though we'd certainly "settle" for numbers of albatrosses.)

Other possibilities include Northern Fulmar, Greater and Manx Shearwaters, Red
Phalarope, South Polar Skua, Pomarine and Parasitic Jaegers, Black-legged
Kittiwake, and other gulls. Seabird migration should be moving well with good
numbers of loons, cormorants, and scoters nearer to shore.

Our target destination will be the commercial fishing boats and underwater
features near the 30 fathom line. If we find a good concentration of terns and
gulls with attendant jaegers, we'll plan on spending some time doing jaeger
study. We expect to spend time in both MD and DE waters, depending upon where
we find birds and marine life. Here are the details.

    Time: 6:00 AM - about 5:00 PM
    Cost: $100
    Boat: 85' Thelma Dale IV
    Leave: Fishermen's Wharf, Lewes, DE

Hope to see you aboard!
