Hi --

Some non-bird-related business was taking us to Annapolis this morning, so
we decided to take a look at Terrapin Park, Queen Anne's Co., early on.
Unfortunately today proved to not be a particularly good migration day (on
good days, one can see hundreds of robins and jays flying south at this
great site). However we persevered and in a couple of hours, managed to dig
out:

Redbreasted Nuthatch (1), Pine Warbler (2-3), Yellowthroat (4), Parula (1),
Myrtle (first of season for us, maybe 10-12), Y-B Sapsucker (4), Field
Sparrow (4), Chipping Sparrow (20) plus a fair number of jays, flickers,
robins and bluebirds which seemed to be aimlessly flying about. The habitat
looks in splendid shape, tons of native fruit such as wild grape (not
porcelain berry), Virginia Creeper, some delicious persimmons...yum!...so
should hold birds around for a while.

A Black Vulture roosting at the edge of the opening into the roof area of
the old barn raised the question -- did they breed there this year? It looks
like a good spot for this species. A very few Monarchs in the meadow.
