Here, visiting the balcony in Bowie, I still have a female cardinal who is close with one of her male  
fledglings.  Saw her feed him about a week or so ago, though he was mostly on his own at the time;  
still making begging sounds.  He visits independently of her, knowing where to find some safflower  
seed.  They were out together this evening.

new batch of fledglings this late. Two or more being fed yesterday evening.
