Folks
I went down south to the Cobb Island area, and then went north to Allen's Fresh. Birds of note were:
One immature White-crowned Sparrow at Southern Park - nice photos of this month bird. 1 Great Egret at Southern Park. Maybe I should visit this location more often. The sparrow is not a common bird this far south in the state.
30+ Tree Swallows at the Breezewood Sewage Treatment Plant - another month bird
2 Chimney Swifts in the swallow flock.
60+ Yellow-rumped Warblers. No other warblers sad to report.
2 Mute Swans - month bird in Neale Sound. Lots of Bald Eagles down around the area for those eagle chasers.
200+ Forster's Terns at Morgantown
1 Royal Tern in the mix
At Allen's Fresh the wind had blown the water out so I had some shorebird habitat. I found:
1 Pectoral Sandpiper - a month bird
2 Dunlin - another month bird
Tonight at the house in Waldorf about 200 American Robins were eating the fruit from the Black Gum. I am and will be watching for the Western Tanager if it shows up. Cross your fingers.
