Hi, Bonnie et al:
On Sat (10/16) at Blue Mash we saw an arresting, Sibley-orange sparrow
that, with excellent prolonged and close looks, we concluded must be a
fabulous GRASSHOPPER SPARROW; un-Grasshopper-like, moving up in bushes
at a chain-link fence and and showing its [rarely seen?] underside, this
amazing apricot across the absolutely unstreaked breast. White belly.
Short tail, big schnozz, apricot on the face, median crown stripe, dark
"ear" splotch, dark mottled nape, distinct eye ring.
