Greetings,

It seems like its been forever since I've posted..... Actually it seems
like its been forever since I've done any biding outside of sitting at
Turkey Point for an hour or two the past few weekends.....ahhhhh
parenthood, i guess?

Any way, The main reason I am posting is to report the largish flock of
birds I found in my driveway (eating grit) yesterday afternoon. I would
estimate the flock to be about 200 birds plus or minus a few. The mixed
flock contained mostly Chipping Sparrows, which have been conspicuosly
absent in my yard for the last 6-8 weeks. Also in the flock were both
Kinglets, Junco, WB Nuthatch, Brown Creeper, and I had a fairly close
encounter with a Pileated Woodpecker as it flew low over the yard.

Also latley I have noticed the return of "our" Bald Eagles that inhabit
the cove (when the ospreys are gone). Yesterday I even had one attemping
to sit in the osprey's nest (again) -this last happened last spring. I
have been seeing good raptor flights casualy around the harford/cecil area
and also increasing numbers of Goose flights during my morning drives to
and from work.

One more thing. Two weeks ago at the Turkey Point Hawk Watch we had a fly-
over of 4 Tundra Swan that for some reason went unreported the date was
10/2 I believe...

Good Birding,
