Since Joe reported seeing Black Vultures near the
Home Depot. Maybe I can tell you why we have tons of
Black Vultures here in a big town of Cockeysville.
Since Apr 2003 I work at Suburban Sales/Ace Hardware
few blocks north of Home Depot. I have a good view at
the top of hill viewing the landfill and quarry near
interesction of Warren Rd and I-83, that place attract
big kettles of vultures, crows, gulls and tons of
starlings . Black and Turkey Vultures were common
year- round increasing to 80+ Black and 150+ Turkey
Vultures from Oct to March.
In late afternoon, big vulture roost can be found
in a small wooded section next to a apartment and a
small park if anyone like to see it. It is located
along Scott Adam Rd off York Rd, the wooded section is
behind the small shopping center called "Scotts Corner
Shopping Center" on Scott Adam Rd in Cockeysville,
Baltimore County, MD

One day last fall, I counted 81 Black and 142 Turkey
Vultures at their roost at this spot.
