Thanks to the excellent directions to GOP posted by Walter Ellison last
month, I was able to find the pond with ease. It is 51 miles from the junction of
Route 50 and the Beltway.

Arriving at 11:15, I scanned the pond from the side of the road. No godwits
were revealed, only Greater Yellowlegs and some peep. Turns out the two
godwits were against the north bank, behind the berm.

The adult female has a broken "ankle" joint and drags that foot.

I made some fairly decent nearly full frame images with my six day old
digital camera, despite the atrocious light. I am happy to share, should someone
want to post them on their site. Also, Fran, I will send to MOS, should you be
interested.
