Speaking of Jane Hill and tree ID...
Jane is planning a joint MOS-MNPS field trip to help interested birders learn more about our native tree species. We believe it could help with describing where a bird is seen to others and can enhance sighting reports and the understanding of habitat preferences of certain species of birds (i.e. What is that tree with all the sapsucker rings? or What is that berry the waxwings are eating?)
Please contact Jane () and me with suggestions for trip locations and dates. I am field trip coordinator and Native News editor for MNPS.
I always watch birds on MNPS field trips, as do others!

We have a Bigtooth Aspen (per Jane Hill) at the bottom of our Montgomery
Co yard, close to a pond.
