I have quite a few goldfinches in my yard. I've also noticed a large flock of
Goldfinches along the trail to the Turkey Point Hawk Watch. There are also
large flocks going past the Hawk Watch area. On Thursday I visited Eastern
Neck and counted one hundred plus in the butterfly field. They were
everywhere.

We've also had phenomenal flights of Red-headed Woodpeckers at the Hawk Watch.
Thirty to fifty on one day. May more than normal on other days. Could these
the once fat and happy young produced during the 17 year cicada harvest????
