Hi all --

On the way to a dog show last weekend, I opened the driveway gate and
flushed two lovely HERMIT THRUSHES from our pipestem drive. As I was walking
back to the car, yelping noises from above alerted me to a flock of SNOW
GEESE flying SE very high -- I was able to get Barry out in time to see
these new "yard birds" before they disappeared into the distance.

Every day while I am out in the yard with the puppies I hear the thin piping
of GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLETS from our pine trees and this morning I heard a
WINTER WREN. The first WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS for our yard are in,
although they have been elsewhere for weeks!

The nasty weather has kept us close to home but the birds have made
themselves visible nevertheless!
