Hi all... After voting, I spent a couple of hours birding this lovely
morning. The sky seemed full of birds on the move - geese, cormorants,
finches and more...

At Sandy Point SP, Anne Arundel County, nothing to write home about.
Highlight was a COMMON LOON in winter plumage in the Bay just north of the
main beach.
Also saw what I took to be a flock of fall plumage GOLDFINCHES feeding in a
"gumball" tree. I don't have access to a Yellow Book, so I don't know if
this is way out of range or not.?????
Other birds (24 species total) included typical fall friends:

        YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER (2+)
WHITE-THROATED SPARROW (several flocks of 4-5)
        DARK-EYED JUNCO

A quick stop at Haines Point, DC, found 3-4 GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLETS in the
evergreen trees at the far end of the point. Mixed in was a likely PALM
WARBLER. Plenty of cormorants around, and a robin or two in the treetops.
Not much else on the water.

        Good birding!
