I installed an in-house window feeder today.  The cats and I have been
having a ball.  The House Finches, Purple Finches and Goldfinches have
been feasting and chatting away.  It's been interesting to see the House
and Purple Finches together so close.  The differences are much more
obvious.  The brownie Purple Finches are very pretty with some yellow in
their plumage.  Someone mentioned to me that Western Purple Finches have
a yellow wash, so are mine unusual?

I just heard a White-throat.  That sweet sound makes me smile even in
the morning (I'm not a morning person).
