Hi --

Since this meeting notice didn't make it into the Yellowthroat, I wanted to
let folks know that I will be giving a talk on "The Longest Pelagic"
Thursday, Nov. 4, at the Frederick Co. MOS chapter meeting -- this is the
cruise Barry and I took last winter (recall I posted to MDOsprey from
Antarctica). We voyaged almost 10,000 miles from Capetown to Valparaiso
Chile via Tristan da Cunha, Antarctica, the Falklands and Tierra del Fuego,
seeing over 100 species of seabird and 200 of land and coastal birds. I'll
have both slides and video of many species, including rarely-seen ones such
as Sooty and Antipodean Albatrosses.

The Frederick bird club meets at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Room of the C.
Burr Artz Library, 110 East Patrick St., Frederick. Directions can be
obtained from the library's web site at: www.fcpl.org
