Over the weekend John  Juriga discovered an adult Killdeer with 4 chicks in the
old Ames parking lot (new McDonald's) off Rt. 50 in Salisbury. Carol & I went
this morning saw at least 1 chick in the grass but a pair of adults exhibiting
distraction displays while taking turns trying to brood another chick which
unfortunately appeared to be dying. We left after taking a few quick images from
the car.

We returned about 3 hrs. later and found the adults gone and the chick dead. I
think it blows the data bank on safe dates.
