Hi --

I led a bird walk today at Lilypons and the vicinity -- it was actually
rather quiet, but the highlight was undoubtedly the VIRGINIA RAIL which
performed well for us in the reed bed next to the pink house. Other birds of
note were about 20 Snow Geese (good for Frederick, I think) and several
Cooper's Hawks, one of which we got in the scope for nice looks.

We did see several large flocks of Horned Larks but all were either flying
or distant and we didn't see or hear any Lappies or Buntings.

The feeders in Lilypons (by the plastic hothouses) were empty, but had been
filled three days ago so it might give you an idea of the traffic -- would
be worth watching them for a time to see if anything good shows up.

By the way, Lilypons sells birdseed and bird club members or people actively
in there birding get a 10% discount! Please give them some custom, they are
very welcoming to us!
