Hi all Warren Strobel's recent Posting about the Waxwings taking a Bath
made Me want to post this Observation from yesterday Sun Nov 14, 04 at the
Cheaspeake Bay Enviromental Center in Grasonville Md in Queen Annes Co. It
was a windy cold morning . But nearing the parking lot on the return walk
from the north trail to the overlook to the creek a flock of Yellow Rumped
warblers were drinking and bathing in a rain puddle beside the path . lots
of birds coming and going. At one point I saw a smaller bird bathing near
the path I soon put the scope on it . It reveled its self to be a Ruby
Crowned Kinglet. The First Time I have seen One Take a Bath. a couple of
Robins stopped by also . I watched For about 30 Min as this show played out
before the Birds went back to feeding in the nearby pine trees and
bayberries bushes .
waterfowl was about what Fred Fallon Posted . On the path to the
tower overlooking Kent Narrows in a Crab Apple with lots of fruit were
several Cedar Waxwings in this same tree also 5 Brown Female type Purple
Finch eating the fruit. Several Red Breasted Nuthatch also around . in
Fact One Flew straight at me head high making me duck as it looked like it
might hit me.

Happy Birding
