Hello everyone,

I just wanted to pass on that the EARED GREBE was seen twice today, once at
1:30 p.m. and again just before sunset. It seems the bird was tucked away
for most of the day in a cove east of the Little Seneca Lake parking area on
Rte. 121. When it made its brief appearances, it was clearly viewed from the
parking area. I understand that thorough checks of the lake this morning did
not produce the grebe, so I wanted to pass this on.

The juvenile SANDHILL CRANE was also present near the location of its
original sighting (photos at www.billhubick.com/birds.html; click the link
on the left for Sandhill Crane). As Dave said, a long vigil this afternoon
did not conjure up any Cave Swallows.

I'm glad I returned from my holiday travels a day early. It's dangerous to
leave the state for a weekend in November!

Have a nice week,

Bill
