Our fourth try in a week paid off today. There was a swirling flock of a few
hundred obvious Tree Swallows on the Bay side of the main road working the area
heading into federal land between the National Seashore sign pulloff and the
toll booths. They stayed mostly out toward the bay but sub flocks and
individuals flew across the road and back. There were 2 CAVE SWALLOWS seen at
one time and about 15 min. later a very cooperative single (maybe repeat) bird
which made the day or rather the 4 days. We recorded no other species of swallow
but we weren't able to really get at the main flock so who knows. We watched for
about an hour and a half (11 - 12:30) when they disappeared to the South.
