HI all,

Speaking of lots of ducks. The Baltimore Bird Club
trip yesterday had over 11,000 waterfowls in 16
species here at Horsehead. Plus a Harlequin Duck at
Wades Point Inn and no Cave Swallow around.

Earlier today, while my father was doing sucking up
leaves on a new mower/trac-vac in front yard. In a few
minutes after he mowing, he race to the house and
called out to me that he saw a swallow which he
thought was a Tree. My father saw Tree Swallows here
few times throughout the month of October.
But a swallow here in Nov, my mind was thinking
about a CAVE SWALLOW so I quickly grab my mother's
binocular and to the front yard and yes, indeed there
is a CAVE SWALLOW flying around the 10 acres field
across street from our house here on Old Federal Hill
Rd in Jarrettsville. Sadly it didn't stay long. After
only 2 minutes, it disappear to the southeast. The
time was 923am when my father alert me, it was 925am
when I first spotted over the field, later by 927am,
it was long gone now. In the next three hours
(930am-1230pm), no swallows. Why cannot this bird
stay longer like they did at Black Hill and at Wades
Point Inn. I don;t think this swallow is hungry.
We have loads of flies over the fields which looks
like stoneflies from Lilypons but different sizes and
shapes.

Calling CHRIS STARLING, you got your ear on, better
keep your eye open while you're working at APG.

Full list from Horsehead will come up today. Still
busy in basement for building new model railroad and
entire set with buildings, cars, tracks and trains
should be complete by Dec 2005 with landscape will be
75 percent complete at that time.
This swallow just made my day after miss it at
Wades Point Inn yesterday, a big thank you to my dad
for spotted it. Sometimes he alert me when he sees
vultures, geese and any passerines over the field. As
of now 17 species of birds in the yard and feeders.
