Wash., DC, Sunday, 5 Dec, 1545:  A Merlin, keenly observing the passing
parade below, was perched on the roof cornice of the Department of Education
building (4th St. SW & Independence Ave.) directly over the banner that
reads "No Child Left Behind.Com."  Perhaps "No Pigeon Left Behind.Com" would
have been more appropriate.  By the way, for those who enjoy flora as well
as fauna, the orchid exhibit at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural
History was outstanding.
