Thanks to Rick for getting the word out on the White-winged Scoter at
Triadelphia.
No Kurt, THANK YOU! The White-winged Scoter was a great county bird. I tried
calling others but most were already out hunting up their own rarities or
elsewhere. Anyway, when I got to the scoter, it was with 2 Oldsquaws, and then
they left before I could see where they went. The scoter was alternatley awake
and asleep while I watched, and a (or the) adult Bald Eagle flew over too.
An immature Common Loon was swimming up reservoir as I left.
The owl fields are certainly a thing of the past. Nothing down there but
some Fox and White-crowned Sparrows. I birded Blue Mash this morning, bringing
my list to 140 with the addition of 3 American Tree Sparrows and a pair of
Lesser Scaup on the big pond.
P.S.;The W I-forget road is W. Willard Rd. Thanks again Kurt. While I was
there Emy Holdridge and Jo Solem stopped by for the scoter.
