Sorry about the double post! Joe and I didn't discuss who was going to post
about the gulls, but I even checked right before I sent my message! Oh well
- two are certainly better than none :)
Please pardon the inconsistency with our aging of the Glaucous. I thought
the bird appeared to have more brown streaking on its upperparts and to be
dark-eyed, but unfortunately I didn't get any photos. First- and second-year
Glaucous Gulls are so close in appearance that it very well could have been
a second-year bird. There is no doubt about the species, though. My
apologies!
