Hey guys,
I know you haven't heard from me in a while...I haven't had much time for
birding.
Anyway, my mother, sister, and I decided to walk around Lake Whetstone
yesterday afternoon. (We had wanted to go to Poolesville in hopes of seeing
the crane, but neither my mother or I were feeling that well and I don't
know if it's still up there...) There wasn't anything unusual.
I remember an earlier post about a canvasback in Whetstone...sad to say I
didn't find it.
  Here's what I got:
  -Candian geese
  -Mallards
  -American Black ducks
  -Hooded Mergensers
  -Mute Swan
  -Black-crowned Night Heron (looked young)
  -Great Blue Heron
  -Ring-billed Gull
  -Belted Kingfisher
  -Carolina Wren
  -Cardinals
  -Turkey Vulture

Some of the Canadas seemed really small...but my eyes might be deceiving
me...
