Saturday Jim Brighton and I joined Jim Stazs on the Denton Count. A Common
Redpoll and Snow Bunting were welcome finds. The bunting was along Route
309 just before you reach Rt. 404. The Redpoll made a brief stop infront of
us just to the north along Horseshoe Road, and another Snow Bunting or
perhaps the same one also flew over here.

Birded Sunday with J. Brighton. Looked for the White Pelican at Jug Bay, by
mid morning Jim spotted it down river from Selby's Landing. We continued
south into Merkle finding a Richardson's Goose and two Purple Finches.

Looked around Benidict for the Thayer's Gull with out any luck.

We chased the White-fronted Goose found by Jim Stazs and Mike Burchett, and
got it as well as Snow Goose and Richarson's Goose, thank you.

Jim B. and I went over to Schoolhouse Pond only to find a few number of
gulls coming and going. Lucky for us(including Stan Arnold) Dave Powell had
come to look for the pelican in the afternoon. Dave called from Jug Bay to
tell us he had seen the pelican, and he was looking at the Black-headed Gull
at Jug Bay. We got there about three minutes after the bird flew, bummer.
I located the 1st year Glaucous Gull after a few minutes. Stan ran to see
the pelican, just after he left I located a 1st year Iceland Gull. Stan
made it back in time to see it just before the park closed. There were also
several Lesser Black-backed Gulls and two flocks of 25+ Bonaparte's Gulls.
